Joshua Widoff Appointed to DURA Board

The Denver Urban Renewal Authority’s (DURA) Board of Commissioners today announced Joshua Widoff as its newest member. He was appointed to the board by Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. As a commissioner, Widoff will support DURA’s role in facilitating urban redevelopment throughout the City and County of Denver.

“Josh Widoff is the ideal addition to the DURA Board of Commissioners. He brings with him deep expertise and experience in the area of real estate investment and development, and his familiarity with issues related to Denver will prove tremendously valuable to DURA, the City of Denver and the entire community,” said Tracy Huggins, executive director of DURA.

Widoff is a Managing Director and Executive Vice President at Black Creek and Dividend Capital Groups, both based in Denver, where he has overseen the negotiation, diligence, financing and closing of approximately $3 billion of real estate investments.  As general counsel of two public real estate investment trusts sponsored by Dividend Capital, he manages the various legal aspects associated with approximately 40 million square feet of commercial real estate located across the United States.

“It’s an honor to sit on the DURA Board of Commissioners, guiding policy and providing leadership to DURA staff, so we can help make Denver a better place to live,” said Widoff.

During more than a decade of private practice at the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, P.C., Widoff managed transactions involving the acquisition, development, leasing, financing and disposition of various real estate assets, including apartment and office buildings, hotels, casinos, industrial/warehouse facilities and shopping centers.
